Spring and summer are gone and now we are faced with the colder weather of autumn and winter. This means bye bye short shorts and skirts and hello jackets, scarves and ear muffs. No worries! You can still be fashionable in winter wear and one sure fire way to achieve this is by getting yourself a ladies parka. Yes you heard right, parkas are now not only for men but there are some designed for women as well.

They provide you with a fashionable piece that will keep you warm for many winters to come.

If you haven’t already done your winter shopping chances are the in store prices will be a little high. The stores usually do their sale on winter clothes towards the end of summer. But if you still need to get some shopping done you can still get some good deals you look long and hard.

If you have worn a parka coat before even for a couple minutes you should know that they are incredibly warm. This is why it is so important to get this on sale as it is always sweeter when you can find something that you love that is very functional at a lower price.

There are a number of different styles that these coats come in and not mention a wide array of colours. If you are the type of shopper where price is your most important concern then you will find that a plain coloured ladies parka will be your cheapest choice. This is due to the fact that these sometimes go on sale when other colour combination parkas do not. Choosing a plain colour can also be advantageous in the sense that you can wear them next year as you would not have picked a colour that would go out of season after one year.

You can find hooded parkas lined with faux fur or you will find those that only have the hoods lined. These types of jackets are most suitable for women with an active lifestyle who love winter sports such as skiing, snowboarding or just being up in the mountains when it snows. This doesn’t mean that they can’t be worn by the average woman who just needs something to protect them from the cold snow and winds of winter while they are going about their daily activates such as going to work.

Other types of these coats that you will find include those made of fur, wool, cotton, fleece or a combination of some of the above. There are even ladies parka made from down. These are sometimes a bit heavy so you wouldn’t want to wear them when you have to leave the house especially if taking public transportation.

These would be better for lounging inside or for when you are in a mountain cabin that is not properly insulated. You have parkas that are closed with zippers or buttons down the front and you have those that pull over the head with just a string at the neck to keep the fabric around the hood close to your face. There are light and heavy parkas, short, long or ¾ parkas… there is just so much variety.
